In an era where independence is taken for granted, a group of women, Bhumata Brigade, in Maharashtra are fighting to reclaim their basic rights i.e. right to pray, right to equality and right to freedom.
Bhumata Brigade are the unsung heroes behind the landmark decision by the Bombay High Court that has allowed women to worship inside the inner sanctum of Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai. They also trooped against the gender biased allowance on entry in the Shani Shingnapur Temple in Maharashtra.
